Though we promote radiant floor heating systems as ideal in many applications, we often plan other hydronic components into projects to produce the most appropriate overall system. Use of hydronics gives us the ability to deal with diverse heating applications such as domestic water or snow and ice removal with the same heating equipment. Hydronics allow for choice of energy sources for heating and cooling, versatility in the selection of distribution equipment, low energy consumption and low heat loss related to space heating distribution, and zoning to address diversity in building designs and uses. We specialize in hydronic heating and distribution systems. As a result we have learned a great deal over our 40 years in business and we take a conservative attitude toward what works and what doesn't. The functionality and reliability of our finished mechanical systems have evolved and improved as a result. Our climate in Montana is a proven testing ground for heating equipment and we are unavoidably students of failure. We will be happy to work with you on your project for radiant heating. CHeat looks fast, but spendy, and I am not convinced you are getting a great deal out of it. I'd be careful w/ the psi rating, too my engineer called for 40 psi XPS under my slab, FWIW.

There are better, tougher vapor barriers/retarders, too, (Tu-Tuff, for one) that ought to go down regardless of what "insulation" product you use all foam sheets have edges that leak, esp because you can not install them perfectly lined up, esp after the job is completed too much traffic. 51, whereas I think 2" of XPS is about 1 (more permeable), but 6 mil visqueen has a perm rating of 0.06. Looking at the specs on CreteHeat, the R-value is the same as XPS (minus the alleged off-gassing reduction, which I've not read about being much.) The perm rating is. Frankly, I don't think the off-gassing in XPS amounts to much. I'd like to see some independent research on that. "Crete-Heat the 2 inch will give you a more constant R value than other insulation which tends to outgas".
